Sarah works with children in order to support their independence to help guide children to be respectful, curious, creative and compassionate. She focuses on helping the children connect with themselves and address and regulate their emotions. She finds the children inspiring and hopes to nurture their sense of awe so they will carry it throughout their lives. Since 2016, Sarah has worked in several different settings, including as a diving instructor, a gymnastics coach, a science teaching fellow, and a volunteer teacher in Brazil for a NGO called Projeto Favela. As a two-time Fulbright scholar, she has taught language and culture classes at two universities in Brazil. She now works with children ages3 to 6 in the chickadee classroom. At Namaste she is able to share the Portuguese language with the children and share stories about Brazilian culture. She also enjoys helping the children with proper tumbling skills on the playground. Sarah is also a fiber artist who makes yarn to create clothing as well as abstract art. Check out her booth at the Trumansburg farmer’s market on Wednesday evenings – Fleece and Thank Ewe Fiber Worx. She also loves the outdoors, swimming and diving, and dancing. She brings her positivity and imagination to her work!
Education: Bachelors of Art in Psychology, with a concentration in Queer Studies from Denison University, Montessori Assistant Teacher Certification from CGMS
