Namaste Montessori School is located on the west side of Cayuga Lake between Ithaca and Trumansburg. The homelike quality of our school contributes to a relaxed, focused experience for the child. Our indoor classroom activities are placed on open shelves for selection as interest and readiness inspires the child. Our outdoor environments offer beautiful play spaces with places to dig, swing and climb as well as pets and gardens to visit.
The primary campus includes a toddler classroom (18 months to 3 years) and a primary classroom (3 to 6 years). There is an inviting playground for each level, complete with sandboxes and play structures. Each program has access to gardens and there is a larger shared garden that provides snacks during the growing season. There are several animals on site, including sheep, goats and a pig that all happily eat the classroom food scraps, as well as fish in the classroom for the children to enjoy!
The Jacksonville campus includes a primary classroom (ages 3 to 6) and a elementary classroom (ages 6 to 12). The children at both levels have access to beautiful outdoor spaces and gardens. There are chickens outside and several indoor classroom animals, including guinea pigs, gerbils, turtles, fish, and a bearded dragon many of which the elementary children assist in the care of. The elementary campus is adjacent to Jacksonville park with a large open field and a pond surrounded by walking trails. The children use the park for large group games, exploring the woods and fishing in the pond!
